- 1 bowl Puffed Rice/Borugulu
- 2 Green Chillies chopped
- 1″ inch Ginger Piece finely chopped
- 2 sp Roasted Chana Dal
- few dry Coconut Pieces
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1/2 sp Chana Dal
- 1/2 sp Urad Dal
- 1 Red Chilli crocked
- Curry Leaves
- 3 sp Oil
In a mixie jar add roasted chana dal, dry coconut pieces and blend into a coarse powder, keep aside.
Take a wide bowl with water add the puffed rice and soak for a while, then squeeze out the water and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, then add chopped green chillies, ginger, curry leaves and fry.
Add in squeezed puffed rice, salt and mix well, cook on low flame for a minute.
Then add in ground roasted chana dal powder and mix well till the puffed rice mixed well with the powder. Continue to cook on low flame with cover for a couple of mins. Now Marmaralu Upma is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
