Mixed Dal Bath Recipe / Mixed Dal Khichdi / Rice and Lentils Bhat
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rice
- 2 sp Toor Dal
- 2 sp Chana Dal
- 2 sp Moong Dal
- 2 sp Urad Dal
- 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
- 3 Green Ghillies slit lengthwise
- 2 sp chopped Ginger
- 1 Onion chopped
- 2 inches Cinnamon Stick
- 4 Cloves
- chopped Coriander Leaves
- chopped Mint Leaves
- Curry Leaves
- Salt to taste
- 4 sp Oil
Instructions
- Wash and soak rice and lentils in a bowl for at least 15 mins and keep aside, In the mean time chop the onion, ginger and green chillies.
- Heat oil in a pan add cloves, cinnamon pieces and fry for a while, add chopped green chillies, ginger, curry leaves and stir-fry for 30 secs. Then add chopped onion and fry until they become soft, now add in chopped coriander, mint leaves and stir.
- Add soaked rice and dal mixture, turmeric powder and mix very well. Fry them on low-medium flame for 1 min and turn off the flame.
- Now transfer them to a bowl and pressure cook along with salt and 4 cups of water for 4 whistles. Once done turn off the flame and let it leave for cool.
- Remove the lid and mix well, now mixed dal bath/mixed dal khichdi is ready to serve, serve hot with sambar or fresh curd.
