Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cooked Rice
  • 1/4 cup Drumstick Leaves/Munagaku/Moringa Leaves
  • 2 Green Chillies slit lengthwise
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 sp Lemon Juice
  • enough Salt

For Popu :

  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • fistful Peanuts
  • 2 Red Chillies
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • few Curry Leaves
  • 3 sp Oil

Instructions

Pluck drumstick leaves/munagaku from the stems, wash thoroughly and strain. Place cooked rice in a mixing bowl and keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan add peanuts and fry until slightly browned then transfer to a plate, next add popu ingredients and fry, once done add chopped green chillies, curry leaves, turmeric powder and fry for a while.

Then add drumstick leaves and fry for a couple of mins on low-medium flame until the raw smell goes out.

Once the raw smell goes off, add fried drumstick leaves/munagaku mixture, fried peanuts, enough salt to the rice bowl and mix well.

Finally add lemon juice and mix everything well. Now healthy, tasty drumstick leaves lemon rice/munagaku pulioha/moringa leaf lemon bath is ready to serve.
