Ingredients

  • 2 no Munakkayalu/Drumsticks
  • 1 small cup Curd/Yogurt/Perugu
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Green Chilli chopped
  • enough Salt

For Popu :

  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • few Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

 

Instructions

Wash cut drumsticks into 3 inches pieces and boil them in water till soft, then allow it cool, once cooled scrape out the inside pulp carefully with a spoon and keep aside.

In the meantime, place yogurt in a mixing bowl add enough salt and whisk well.

Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add green chillies, curry leaves and fry for 30 secs.

Then add cooked drumstick pulp, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, little salt and mix well, continue to cook for a min on low flame. Turn off the flame and cool down completely.

Once cooled, add drumstick pulp mixture to yogurt and mix well, now tasty tasty munakkaya perugu pachadi/drumstick yogurt chutney is ready to serve.
