Sorakaya Perugu Pachadi / Bottle Gourd Raita / Lauki ka Yogurt Chutney – Raita Recipes
Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped Bottle Gourd Pieces/Sorakaya Mukkalu
- 1 cup fresh Yogurt/Curd
- enough Salt
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- 2 Green Chillies
- 1 " Ginger Piece
- chopped Coriander Leaves
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1/2 sp Chana Dal
- 1/2 sp Urad Dal
- 1 Red Chilli
- few Curry Leaves
- 2 sp Oil

Instructions
- Wash, peel bottle gourd and chop into small pieces and cook them in 1/2 cup of water with little salt until they are tender. Once done turn off the flame, remove from the pan and leave them to cool.
- In the meantime, grind chopped ginger, chopped green chillies into a coarse paste and keep aside. Place yogurt in a mixing bowl add salt and whisk it well. Then add ground ginger chilli paste, turmeric powder, cooked and cooled bottle gourd pieces, chopped  coriander leaves and mix them well combined.
- Heat oil in a small frying pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves and stir, turn off the flame and allow it cool. Once cooled add it to yogurt mixture and mix well. Now bottel gourd raita/sorakaya perugu pachadi is ready to serve. It goes well as a side dish with plain rice.
