Ingredients

  • 2 nos Radish/Mullangi
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 inch Tamarind Flake
  • Salt to taste

For Chutney Popu :

  • 8-9 Red Chillies
  • 1/2 sp Coriander Seeds
  • 1/2 spĀ  Mustard Seeds
  • 1 sp Chana Dal
  • 1 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 sp Oil

Instructions

Wash radish/mullangi thoroughly, peel and chop them into small pieces. Place the radish pieces in a strainer add turmeric powder, a pinch of salt mix them both well and keep aside for 10 mins.

Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients except red chillies and fry, once done add red chillies and fry for a while then turn off the flame and allow it to cool.

Once cooled, blend fried popu ingredients, tamarind along with salt and turmeric powder. Add little water and grind into a coarse paste. Then transfer the ground chutney to a bowl.

Add chopped radish pieces to ground chutney and mix thoroughly with the help of a spoon. Now mullangi/radish chutney is ready. Serve with rice and roti.
