- 1 small cup chopped Tindora/Dondakaya Mukkalu
- small gooseberry size Tamarind
- 6-7 Green Chillies
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- 4 crushed Garlic Cloves(optional)
- enough Salt
For Popu :
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 sp Urad Dal
- 1 Red Chilli crocked
- 1 pinch Hing
- 3 sp Oil
- few Curry Leaves
Wash tindora well and trim the edges and chop into small pieces and keep aside. Remove the stalks of the green chillies and wash well, wash tamarind and soak it in a little water.
Combine and blend green chillies, tamarind, salt, turmeric powder into a coarse paste.
Next add ivy gourd pieces and blend into a coarse paste and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves and fry for a while. In this stage add crushed Garlic and fry till light brown.
Then add in ground chuntey and cook on low flame until the raw smell goes out. Now simple Dondakaya Pachadi/Tindora Chutney is ready. serve it to rice or roti.
