Ingredients
For Undrallu :
- 1 cup Rice Flour
- 3/4 cup Water
- 1 sp Oil
- little Salt
For Stuffing :
- 2 no boiled, peeled and mashed Aloo
- 2 sp chopped Green Chillies
- 2 sp chopped Ginger
- 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
- enough Salt
For Popu :
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 sp Urad Dal
- 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1 pinch Hing
- few Curry Leaves
- 2 sp Oil
Instructions
Put water in a bowl add oil, salt into it and bring it to a boil, once it starts boiling reduce the flame then add the rice flour gradually and mix well, turn off the flame and allow it to cool with cover. Once done knead it well and make a dough.
Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add in chopped green chillies, chopped ginger, curry leaves and fry for a while. Then add mashed aloo, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt in the pan and let it cook for a couple of mins. After that turn off the heat and add in lemon juice and mix everything well. Now stuffing is ready, allow it to cool completely.
Divide the dough into five lemon sized balls and keep aside. Take one dough ball and spread it a small puri, then place 2 sp aloo stuffing on it, keep sealing carefully and roll it. Repeat the same process with the rest of the dough balls and aloo stuffing. Place them on a greased plate, cover with a lid and steam cook for 15 mins on medium flame.
When done turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl, now spicy and stuffed Undrallu are ready. Offer them as naivedyam to Lord Ganesh during Vinayaka Chavithi festival.
