2 sp Chana Dal
2 sp Moong Dal
1/2 cup grated Jaggery
1 pinch Elaichi Powder
fistful chopped Dry Coconut Pieces
few Dry Fruits
2 sp Ghee
Place the dals(chana dal, moong dal) in a bowl, wash well and pressure cook for three whistles. Once done remove the lid and mix well.
In a bowl add jaggery, 1/4 cup of water and make a thick syrup, then strain the syrup into the cooked dal and mix well, add elaichi powder and cook on low flame for a couple of mins.
Heat ghee in a small pan fry cashews, coconut slivers and pour over the mixed dal payasam and mix well, at this stage turn off the flame. Now chana dal + moong dal payasam/kheer is ready to offer as naivedyam for Goddess Lakshmi Devi. After that transfer into serving bowls and serve, it can be served hot or cold.
