Ingredients
- 1 small cup Toor Dal/Kandi Pappu
- 1 cup chopped Cabbage/Patta Gobhi
- few Mango Pieces
- 2 Green Chillies chopped
- 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- Salt to taste
- chopped Coriander Leaves
For Popu :
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1 Red Chilli crocked
- 1 pinch Hing
- Curry Leaves
- 2 sp Oil
Instructions
In a bowl place green chillies, mango pieces, chopped cabbage with little water, wash toor dal well in a separate bowl. Pressure cook dal and veggies separately for 3 whistles. Once done turn off the heat and allow it to cool, after that remove the lid and mash it well.
Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves and fry for a while. Then add cooked dal + cabbage mango mixture and mix well.
Now add in salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and stir well, let it cook for a couple of mins. Lastly add chopped coriander leaves and give it a quick stir, then turn off the flame and transfer the cabbage mango dal into a serving bowl and garnish with fresh coriander leaves. It is a side dish for rice and roti.
