Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped Broad Beans/Chikkudukaya Mukkalu
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 2 sp Nuvvulu/Sesame Seeds
  • fistful Dry Coconut Pieces
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste

For Popu :

  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli
  • few Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

 

Instructions

Heat a pan add sesame seeds, coconut pieces and dry roast until light brown color. Then grind into a coarse powder along with red chilli powder and keep aside.

Wash the chopped broad beans well and cook with enough salt and turmeric powder. Once done strain them and keep aside.

Heat oil in a kadai add popu ingredients and fry, when done add curry leaves and stir. Then add in cooked broad beans and stir-fry for a couple of mins on medium flame.

Then add 2 sp ground sesame powder and mix everything well. Cover and cook for a while, then turn off the heat and transfer into a serving bowl. Now Chikkudu Nuvvu Podi Kura/Broad Beans Curry with Sesame Powder is ready to serve.
