Poha Urad Dal Fritters Recipe / Flattened Rice Minapa Vada – how to make Poha Urad Dal Vada
Ingredients
- 1 small cup Thick Poha/Atukulu/Rice Flakes
- 2 sp Urad Dal
- 3 Green Chillies
- 1 Onion finely chopped
- 1/2 sp Pepper Corn
- chopped Coriander Leaves
- chopped Curry Leaves
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep fry
Instructions
- Wash and soak urad dal for 2 hours and then grind them into a coarse paste along with green chillies and pepper corn. Transfer to a bowl and keep aside. In the meantime, wash and soak poha for 5 mins. After that squeeze the poha and add it to urad dal paste. Now add remaining ingredients (except oil) to the poha mixture.
- Mix together to make a dough. Now divide the dough into equal lemon sized balls and keep aside. Take one ball and press it gently.
- Heat oil in a pan on medium heat, once hot drop the prepared vada slowly into the hot oil. Fry them till light golden brown, then remove from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Now poha urad dal vada is ready. Serve hot with a cup of coffee or tea.
