Ingredients

  • 1 small cup Toor Dal
  • 1 cup chopped Tummi Koora
  • 1 Tomato chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 sp Tamarind paste
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste

For Popu :

  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • few Curry Leaves
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

Separate the tummi leaves from the stalks and wash well then chop the tummi aaku into small pieces. Wash toor dal well and combine chopped tummi kura, chopped green chillies, tomato and pressure cook with 1 cup of water for 3 whistles. Once done turn off the heat and allow it to cool.

Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, cooked dal mixture and mix well. Then add tamarind paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt  and mix very well. Let it cook for a couple of mins, now traditional recipe tummikura tomato pappu is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve.
