Menthulu Pulusu/Fenugreek Seeds Stew/Menthi Pulusu-Andhra Style Menthulu Pulusu Recipe
Ingredients
- 3/4 sp Methulu/Fenugreek Seeds
- 4-5 Dry Red Chillies
- 1 sp Rice
- small lime size Tamarind
- 1 Onion finely chopped
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- 2 sp Jaggery
- Salt to taste
- chopped Coriander Leaves
- few Curry Leaves
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 sp Fenugreek Seeds
- Cumin Seeds
- 1 pinch Hing
- 2 sp Oil

Instructions
- Heat a pan add methi seeds, rice, red chillies and dry roast them till they turn light brown color. Take them out to cool.
- Once cooled grind into a coarse powder. Wash and soak tamarind in a cup of water and keep aside
- Heat oil to the same pan add popu ingredients and fry, when it splutter add curry leaves, sliced onion and stir-fry for 1 min on low-medium flame until tender.
- Then add tamarind juice, turmeric powder, salt to fried onion and cook for 5 mins. Now add 2 sp ground powder and boil.
- Finally add jaggery, chopped coriander leaves and cook for a couple of mins. After that transfer it to a serving bowl, spicy and tasty menthi pulusu is ready. It is a great combination with pappu, steamed white rice and dollop of ghee.
