Tomato Semiya Upma Recipe / Tomato Vermicelli Bath - How to make Tomato Vermicelli Bath

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Semiya/Vermicelli
  • 2 Tomatoes chopped finely
  • 1 big Onion finely chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped finely
  • 2 sp chopped Ginger
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 2 cups Water
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • few Curry Leaves
  • 3 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Heat 1/2 sp oil in a pan add vermicelli and roast them till light brown in color, then remove from the pan and keep aside.
  2. Add remaining oil to the same pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, ginger, green chillies, chopped onion and stir-fry until the onions are tender.
  3. Then add in chopped tomatoes and stir, sprinkle very little water and cook till the tomatoes are soft. Then add water, turmeric powder, salt and bring it to a boil.
  4. When it starts boiling add in fried vermicelli and mix well. Allow it to cook completely with cover, keep stirring. Turn off the flame and let it leave for 2 mins with cover. Now tomato vermicelli bath is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
