Carrot Moong Dal Kheer / Carrot Pesara Payasam / Carrot Yellow Mung Dal Kheer

Ingredients

  • 1 small cup Moong Dal
  • 11/4 small cup Sugar
  • 1 Carrot
  • 3 cups Milk
  • 1/2 sp Elaichi Powder
  • few Dry Fruit

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak moong dal for 5 mins, wash, peel carrot and cut into pieces.
  2. Pressure cook dal with 3 cups of water and also cook carrot with little water in a separate bowl.
  3. Let it cool completely and then grind cooked carrot pieces along with little milk into a thin paste.
  4. Mash the cooked moong dal nicely with the back side of the ladle and keep aside.
  5. Add sugar to cooked dal and cook on medium heat until the sugar completely dissolves.
  6. Reduce the heat and add ground carrot paste and mix well, then add milk and elaichi powder.
  7. Continue stirring gently and cook for 2 mins, remove from the heat and transfer into a serving bowl.
  8. Now carrot moong dal payasam is ready, cover and refrigerate until completely chilled.
  9. When it cool, pour the kheer in serving bowls and add all the dry fruits and serve.
