Foxtail Millet Carrot Bath/Carrot Rice with Korra Biyyam/Thinai Carrot Bath - Millet Recipes
Ingredients
- 1 cup Foxtail Millet/Korralu
- 2 cups Water
- 1 cup grated Carrot
- 1 Green Chilli chop lengthwise
- 1 Onion chopped finely
- 1 inch Cinnamon Stick
- 3 Cloves
- Salt to taste
- few Curry Leaves
- 2 sp Oil
- 1 sp Coriander Seeds
- 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1/2 sp Chana Dal
- 1/2 sp Urad Dal
- 3 Red Chillies
- fistful Dry Coconut Pieces
- 1/2 sp Oil

- Wash and soak foxtail millet for 10 mins and then cook in a rice cooker with 2 cups of water, once done turn off and leave it to cool. In the meantime, heat oil in a pan add powder ingredients (except coconut ) and fry till light brown color, then add in coconut pieces and fry for a while, turn off the flame and allow it cool. Once cooled, grind them into a coarse powder and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan add cloves, cinnamon stick and fry for 30 secs, add chopped onion, green chillie, curry leaves and stir-fry for a couple of mins, then add grated carrot and cook until soft, if needed sprinkle little water.
- When done add cooked korra rice, enough salt, 2 sp ground powder and mix very well, cover and cook on low flame for a min, then turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl. Now delicious foxtail millet carrot bath is ready to serve. Serve hot with fresh curd/yogurt.
