Kodo Millet Sweet Pongal / Arikalu Bellam Pongali – Millet recipes
Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked Kodo Millet Rice
- 1 cup grated Jaggery
- 1 pinch Ealichi Powder
- few chopped Cashew Nuts
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 2 sp Ghee
Instructions
- Wash and soak kodo millet for 10 mins and then cook in a pressure cooker or in a rice cooker with two cups of water. Make a syrup of jaggery with 1/2 cup of water.
- Once done pour the jaggery syrup, milk to cooked kodo millet rice bowl and mix well, let it cook for a couple of mins till done.
- Heat ghee in a small frying pan add cashew nuts and fry. Then add elaichi powder, fried cashew nuts to cooked sweet pongal and mix well. Turn off the heat and transfer into a serving bowl and garnish with fried cashew nuts. Now kodo millet sweet pongal is ready to offered as naivedyam during Navaratri days and also other auspicious days.
