Bhindi Onion Curry / Bendakaya Ullipaya Kura / Okra Onion Fry

Ingredients

  • 1/4 kg Bendakayalu/Lady's Finger/Okra
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 1 Tomato chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry Leaves
  • 3 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and clean okra and cut into small pieces, heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry.
  2. When done add curry leaves, chopped onion and fry for a while. Next add tomato pieces and stir well, cover with a lid and cook till tender.
  3. Then add okra pieces and mix well, cover with a lid and cook on low flame till the okra pieces turns a little soft.
  4. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and stir well, cook for a couple of mins.
  5. When the curry is completely cook, then remove from the flame and transfer into a serving bowl.
  6. Now Okra onion curry is ready to serve, Serve with steamed white rice.
