Bottle Gourd Tomato Dal/Sorakaya Tomato Pappu/Anapakaya Tomato Pappu
Ingredients
- 1 cup Bottle Gourd Pieces/Sorakaya Mukkalu
- 1/2 cup Toor Dal
- 2 Green Chillis chopped
- 1 Tomato chopped
- 1 Onion chopped
- 1/2 sp Red Chilli powder
- 1 pinch Turmeric powder
- 1 sp Tamarind pulp
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1 Red Chilli crocked
- Curry leaves
- 2 sp Oil

Instructions
- Combine and place the bottle gourd pieces, onion, tomato, green chillies, tamarind in a bowl and pressure cook for 4 whistles. Let the cooker cool for 10 mins, then remove the lid and mash it well.
- Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, mashed dal and stir well. Then add in turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and mix well, let it cook for 5 mins on low to medium flame.
- After that turn of the heat and transfer into a serving bowl, now sorakaya tomato pappu/bottle gourd tomato dal is ready to serve, serve with rice or rotis
