Beetroot Aloo Gravy Curry / Potato Beetroot Gravy Curry

Ingredients

  • 1 no Beetroot
  • 2 nos Potatoes
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes chopped
  • 1/2 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • fistful Coconut Pieces
  • 1 pinch turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Coriander Seeds
  • 1 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 5 Red Chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry Leaves
  • Coriander leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel the beetroot, potatoes and cut into small pieces, then pressure cook.
  2. Dry roast coriander seeds, chana dal, urad dal and red chillies.
  3. Grind into a fine paste along with coconut pieces and little water.
  4. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients & fry, once done add onions, curry leaves and stir, fry until the onions are tender.
  5. Add in chopped tomatoes, ginger garlic paste and cook well, now add ground paste, salt, turmeric powder and mix well.
  6. If needed add little water and stir, then add cooked pieces and mix well.
  7. Let it cook for a couple of mins and transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves.
  8. Beetroot aloo gravy curry is ready, serve hot with rice or rotis.
