Birakaya Allam Mirchi Curry / Ridge Gourd Curry with Ginger Green Chilli Paste

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg Birakayalu/Ridge Gourd
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 4 Green Chillies
  • 2 sp chopped Ginger
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. In a mixie jar add green chillies, ginger and blend into a coarse paste and keep aside.
  2. Wash, peel ridge gourd / birakayalu and cut into small pieces.
  3. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry.
  4. Once done add curry leaves, ridge gourd pieces and stir.
  5. Add salt, turmeric powder and mix well, cover and cook on low flame.
  6. When the curry is done add ground ginger chilli paste and mix well.
  7. Let it cook for a couple of mins without cover.
  8. Birakaya allam pachi mirchi curry is ready to serve.
