Cabbage Senaga Pappu Podi Kura/Patta Gobhi Chana Dal Curry / Cabbage Chana Dal Curry

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped Cabbage
  • 4 sp Chana Dal / Senaga Pappu
  • fistful Fresh Coconut Pieces
  • 4 Green Chillies
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak chana dal for 15 - 20 minutes.
  2. Grind coconut pieces, green chillies, ginger into a coarse powder and keep aside.
  3. Combine cabbage, chana dal, salt, turmeric powder and pressure cook or boil on stove top till just soft then strain them and keep it aside.
  4. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, cooked cabbage mixture and stir well.
  5. Next add ground coconut mixture and mix well, let it fry for a couple of mins without cover.
  6. When done remove from fire & transfer into a serving bowl.
  7. Now cabbage chana dal curry is ready to serve, serve hot with rice or rotis.
