Kandi Pappu Payasam Recipe / Toor Dal Kheer - Kheer Recipes
Ingredients
- 1 small cup Toor Dal
- 1 same cup grated Jaggery
- 2 sp grated fresh Coconut
- few Coconut Pieces
- 4 Cashew Nuts
- 4 Almonds
- 2 Elaichi
- 2 sp Ghee
Instructions
- Just fry toor dal for 1 min, then wash and soak for 15 mins and cook in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles. Soak cashew nuts, badam in water for 15 mins, remove the skin of the badam.
- Meanwhile, grind grated coconut, elaichi, soaked badam, cashew nuts into a smooth paste with little water.
- Boil jaggery with one cup of water in a bowl, till it turns into slight thick syrup, then add cooked and mashed toor dal and mix well.
- Now mix ground coconut paste to it and stir well, let it simmer for 5 mins then remove from the heat.
- Heat 2 sp ghee in a small frying pan add coconut pieces and fry till light golden brown, then put them with ghee over the toor dal payasam and mix very well.
- Navratri prasadam toor dal payasam is ready for naivedyam to Goddess Durga.
