Ingredients

  • 1cup Cooked Rice
  • 2 no Tomatoes
  • 2 inches Tamarind Flake
  • 2 Green Chillies slit lengthwise
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 sp Methi Mustard Seeds Powder
  • 1 sp grated Jaggery
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1 sp Chana Dal
  • 1 sp Urad Dal
  • 2 Red Chillies crocked
  • fistful Peanuts
  • 1 pinch Inguva
  • Curry Leaves
  • 4 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut tomatoes into small pieces, grind them along with soaked tamarind to a thick juice.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add peanuts and fry, once done remove from the pan and keep aside. Then add popu ingredients to the same pan and fry, when done add green chillies, curry leaves and fry for a while. Now add in ground tomato puree.
  3. Add salt, turmeric, red chilli powder and cook for a min. Then add methi mustard seeds powder, jaggery and continue to cook for a couple of mins on low flame, till the tomato juice becomes a thick paste.
  4. Now add cooked rice, fried peanuts and mix everything well, let it cook for 30 sec. Now tasty tasty tomato pulihora is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve.
