Palak Chegodilu / Fried Spinach Rice Rings / Ring Muruku – how to make Palak Chekodilu

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 bunch Spinach/Palakura
  • 4 Green Chillies
  • 1 pinch Hing
  • enough Salt
  • Oil for deep fry

Instructions

  1. Clean, wash spinach leaves and then blend it to a smooth paste along with green chillies. Now add one cup of water and mix well, after that strain the spinach water.
  2. Pour spinach water to a pan add hing, salt, 2 sp oil and boil, once boiled add rice flour and mix well. Turn off the heat and keep aside with cover for 1 hour. After 1 hour remove the lid and knead well till it becomes a soft dough without any lumps.
  3. Divide the dough into marble-sized balls and keep aside. Take one ball and roll on a flat surface to form a thick roap, then bring the two ends together and press gently to form a circle/ring. Repeat the same procedure with the remaining dough.
  4. Heat oil in a pan for deep fry, once hot fry them in hot oil on medium flame until brown color. Take them out and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Do the same with the remaining prepared rings. Now tasty and crunchy palak chegodilu are ready to serve, once cooled store them in an airtight container.
