Undralla Kheer In Sabut Moong Dal/Green Gram Mini Kozhukattai Pudding – Vinayaka Chavithi Special Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Whole Moong Dal/Pesalu
  • 1/2 cup Jaggery
  • 1 pinch Ealichi Powder
  • few Dry Fruits
  • 2 sp Ghee
  • For Undrallu :
  • 1/2 cup Rice Flour
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 1 sp Ghee

Instructions

  1. Dry roast green gram for 1 min on low flame then wash and pressure cook for 4 whistle and allow it cool. Once done remove the lid and mash it gently.
  2. In the meantime, put water in a bowl add ghee into it and bring it to a boil, once it starts boiling reduce the flame then add the rice flour gradually and mix well, turn off the flame and allow it to cool with cover.
  3. When done, knead it well and make small size balls from the dough as shown in the picture bellow, now mini undrallu/rice balls are ready for pudding. Boil 1 cup of water in a bowl then add in prepared mini kozhukattai and cook for a couple of mins. Once done remove from the flame. Heat another bowl add jaggery, 1/2 cup of water and boil. Let it dissolve then drain impurities.
  4. Then pour jaggery syrup to cooked green gram dal and mix well. Now add boiled mini undrallu, ealichi powder and mix very well, let it simmer for 2 mins on low flame. Heat ghee in a pan add dry fruits and fry, once done add in pudding and turn off the flame. Now green moong dal undralla kheer is ready. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve as naivedyam to Lord Ganesh during Vinayaka chavithi festival.
