Pala Talikalu Recipe / Talikala Payasam / Rice Flour Talikala Kheer

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • 11/4 cup Water
  • 1 sp Ghee
  • 250 ml Milk
  • 2 sp grated Fresh Coconut
  • 4 sp Sugar
  • 1 pinch Elaichi Powder
  • few fried Dry Fruits

Instructions

  1. Put water in a bowl add ghee into it and bring it to a boil, once it starts boiling reduce the flame then add the rice flour gradually and mix well, turn off the flame and allow it to cool with cover.
  2. When done, knead it well and divide the dough into equal size balls, then roll them into small strings as shown in the picture bellow, now talikalu are ready. Mix the sugar and milk in a bowl and let it boil for 5 mins on low heat. Then add prepared talikalu, elaichi powder and cook for 5 mins.
  3. Mix 1 sp rice flour in little milk and pour in boiled milk. Continue to cook over a low heat for another 2 mins, finally add grated fresh coconut and cook for a while. Then turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with fried dry fruits. Now pala talikalu are ready as prasadam to Lord Ganesh during the Vinayaka Chavithi Festival.
