Proso Millet Potato Rice Recipe / Varugu Rice Aloo Bath - Millet Recipes
Ingredients
- 1 small cup Proso Millet/Varagu Rice
- 2 cups Water
- 2 potatoes
- fistful Peanuts
- 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
- Salt to taste
- 3 Cloves
- 2 small pieces of Cinnamon
- few Curry Leaves
- few Mint Leaves
- 2 sp Oil
- 1 inch Cinnamon Stick
- 3 Elaichi Pods
- 4 Cloves

Instructions
- Wash and soak poso millet for 10 mins and keep aside, wash, peel potato and chop into small pieces. Pressure cook proso millet, aloo pieces in a separate bowls for 2 whistles. Once done remove the lid and allow it cool. Meantime grind powder ingredients into a coarse powder and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan add cloves, cinnamon, peanuts and fry for 1 min, then add cooked aloo pieces, curry leaves, turmeric powder and stir-fry for a couple of mins on low-medium flame.
- Then add cooked varugu rice, salt, ground masala powder and mix everything well, add chopped mint leaves and mix well, simmer on flame for a min then turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl. Now healthy breakfast/lunch recipe varagu rice aloo bath is ready to serve, serve hot with onion raita.
