Tomato Pappu / Tomato Dal with Toor Dal - Dal Recipes
Ingredients
- 1 cup Toor Dal
- 2 Tomatoes
- 2 Green Chillies chopped
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
- 1 sp Tamarind Paste(optional)
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1 Pinch Inguva/Hing
- 1 Red Chilli crocked
- Curry Leaves
- 2 sp Oil

Instructions
- Wash toor dal and pressure cook along with tomatoes and green chillies, let it cool for some time, then remove from the cooker and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves and fry for a while. Then add cooked dal mixture and mix well.
- Add in red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and let it cook for 5 mins on low to medium heat.
- Finally add chopped fresh coriander leaves and mix it well then transfer into a serving bowl, now tomato dal/tomato pappu is ready to serve, serve with rice or roti.
