Curry leaves Powder Recipe / Karivepaku Podi - Andhra Style Curry Leaf Powder

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Curry Leaves
  • 2 tbsp Chana Dal
  • 2 tbsp Urad Dal
  • 2 tbsp Coriander Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Pepper Corns
  • 2 inches Tamarind Flake
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 6-7 Red Chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan add chana dal, urad dal and fry for a couple of mins.
  2. Next add coriander seeds, pepper corns, red chillies and fry.
  3. Fry them until they become golden brown, then remove from fire and keep aside in plate.
  4. In the same pan add curry leaves and stir-fry them for a couple of mins.
  5. Remove from flame and keep aside, let it cool completely.
  6. Once cooled add tamarind, salt, turmeric powder and grind into a coarse powder with the roasted ingredients along with curry leaves,
  7. Now curry leaves powder is ready, store in an airtight container, serve with rice and breakfast recipes.
