Dal with Raw Chintakaya Thokku / Raw Tamarind Dal
Ingredients
- 1 small cup Toor Dal
- 1 sp Chintakaya Thokku (Uppu Chintakaya)
- 2 Green Chillies chopped
- 1 Onion chopped
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1 Red Chilli Crocked
- Curry Leaves
- Coriander Leaves
- 2 sp Oil

Instructions
- Wash and pressure cook toor dal, raw tamarind pachadi in separate bowls.
- Leave it to cool for some time then remove the lid.
- Squeeze the chintakaya thokku and take extract.
- Now add the raw tamarind extract to cooked dal and mix it well.
- Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry.
- When they splutter add curry leaves, green chillies, onions and fry.
- Then add cooked dal, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and stir well.
- Let it cook for a couple of mins and turn off the flame.
- Raw tamarind dal is ready. transfer into a serving bowl.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve. Serve with hot rice or rotis.
