Sankranti Recipe Murukulu - Snacks
Ingredients
- 4 cups Rice/Biyyam
- 1 cup Urad Dal
- 1/2 cup Roasted Chana Dal
- 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
- 1 sp Cumin seeds
- lime size Butter
- Salt to Taste
- Oil for deep fry
- 1/2 sp Hing /Inguva
Instructions
- Heat a kadai add rice and fry for 5 min on medium flame, when done remove from the fire.
- In the same pan, add urad dal and fry in the medium flame till it change its color and comes good aroma, then remove from the heat.
- Allow it to cool for some time and grind along with putnala pappu/roated chana dal.
- Take ground flour in a wide bowl and add above ingredients except oil and mix well, now add enough water and make a soft dough.
- Heat oil in a khadai on medium flame, place a fistful of dough in muruku maker & press it into hot oil, fry them till they turn light golden brown in color.
- Fry a few murukus at a time, once done remove from the pan and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil & allow them to cool.
- Now murukulu are ready to serve, store them in an airtight container.
