In a small pressure cooker add toor dal and wash well, then add in chopped spinach, bottle gourd, green chillies and pressure cook for 3 whistles, once done remove from the heat and set aside to cool.
Once cooled remove the lid add salt, red chilli powder, tamarind paste and mix well. Let it cook for a couple of mins and then turn of the flame. Heat oil in a small frying pan add popu ingredients and fry, when done add it to cooked dal mixture and mix well. Now bottle gourd spinach dal is ready, transfer into a serving bowl. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with rice or chapathi.
