Sorakaya Palak Pappu / Bottle Gourd Spinach Dal / Anapakaya Palakura Pappu
Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped Palakura/Spinach
- 1 cup chopped Bottle Gourd/Lauki Pieces
- 2 Green Chillies chopped
- 1 small cup Toor Dal
- 2 sp Tamarind Paste
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1 Red Chilli crocked
- 1 pinch Hing
- 1 sp chopped Coriander Leaves
- few Curry Leaves
- 2 sp Oil

Instructions
- In a small pressure cooker add toor dal and wash well, then add in chopped spinach, bottle gourd, green chillies and pressure cook for 3 whistles, once done remove from the heat and set aside to cool.
- Once cooled remove the lid add salt, red chilli powder, tamarind paste and mix well. Let it cook for a couple of mins and then turn of the flame. Heat oil in a small frying pan add popu ingredients and fry, when done add it to cooked dal mixture and mix well. Now bottle gourd spinach dal is ready, transfer into a serving bowl. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with rice or chapathi.
