Yellow Cucumber Onion Curry Recipe / Dosakaya Ullipaya Kura

Ingredients

  • 1 small Yellow Cucumber/Dosakaya
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 1 Green Chilli chopped
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/4 sp Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/4 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel dosakaya and cut into half and check seeds and flesh, after that chop into small pieces and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add onions, curry leaves and stir.
  3. When the onions become tender then add dosakaya/yellow cucumber pieces and stir-cook on medium heat.
  4. Add salt, turmeric powder and sprinkle little quantity of water, mix well and cook with cover for a couple of mins, stir now and then.
  5. Once the curry is done add red chilli powder and mix well, cook for a min on low flame with out lid.
  6. Now dosakaya onion curry is ready, turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl, serve hot with rice and ghee.
