Coconut Purnalu Recipe / Kobbari Burelu / Coconut Purnam Burelu
Ingredients
- 2 cups Fresh Grated Coconut
- 11/2 cup grated Jaggery
- 1 pinch Elaichi Powder
- Oil for deep fry
- 1 cup Urad Dal
- 2 cups Rice
- 1 pinch Salt

Instructions
- Wash well rice+urad dal and soak 2 hours, after that make it a paste like thick dosa batter add little salt and keep aside.
- Take a microwave safe bowl add grated jaggery, coconut, elaichi powder and mix well.
- Place the bowl in microwave and set the time for 3 mins, keep checking in between and stir well and again set the time for 3 mins, mix well and plug off.
- Let it leaves the bowl in the oven for 1 more minute, after that take the bowl out and make small lemon sized balls. Now coconut stuffing is ready.
- Heat a pan with enough oil for deep fry, once hot dip the coconut balls in the batter and gently drop them into the hot oil and fry.
- Fry them until golden brown, once done take them out and place on to a paper towel to drain excess oil. Repeat the same with the remaining coconut stuffing. Now festival recipe coconut purnalu/kobbari burelu are ready for naivedyam.
