Noolkol Kootu Recipe / Kohlrabi Pepper Kootu - Kootu Recipes
Ingredients
- 1 small cup Toor Dal
- 1 Noolkol / Turnip
- 1 pinch Turmeri Powder
- Salt to taste
- few Dry Coconut Pieces
- 1/2 sp Coriander Seeds
- 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1/2 sp Urad Dal
- 1 sp Peppercorns
- 1 Red Chilli
- 1/2 sp Oil
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 sp Urad Dal
- 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
- 1 Red Chilli crocked
- 1 pinch Hing
- 2 sp Oil
- Curry Leaves

Instructions
- Wash and peel the skin and cut noolkol into medium size pieces, wash toor dal, add chopped noolkol and pressure cook.
- Meanwhile, heat oil in a small frying pan add paste ingredients and fry, when it done remove from the heat.
- Let it cool for some time and then grind into a smooth paste along with coconut pieces, keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, when done add curry leaves, cooked dal, ground paste, turmeric powder, salt and mix it well.
- Add water if needed, let it cook on low flame for 5 mins, once done turn off the heat.
- Now noolkol pepper kootu is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot with rice or roti.
