Allam Garelu Recipe / Minapa Garelu / Urad Dal Fritters with Ginger Flavour
Ingredients
- 1 cup Urad Dal
- 1 sp Chana Dal
- 4 Green Chillies
- 2 sp chopped Ginger
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep fry
Instructions
- Wash and soak urad dal, chana dal for 2 hours and grind into a coarse paste, then remove from the jar and place in a bowl. Grind ginger into a coarse paste along with green chillies.
- Add salt, ground paste, chopped curry leaves to ground urad dal paste and mix it very well.
- Make small balls from this mixture, flatten them slightly and shape into vadas, then gently drop the vadas into the hot oil.
- Deep fry them until golden brown in color and remove from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Now allam garelu (without whole) are ready for naivedyam to Goddess Durga Devi.
