Broad Beans Curry with Roasted Chana Dal Powder/Chikkudukaya Pappula Podi Kura

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped Indian Broad Beans/Chikkudukaya Mukkalu
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1" inch Tamarind Flake
  • enough Salt
  • For Powder :
  • 2 sp Roasted Chana Dal/Dalia
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • few dry Coconut Pieces
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • 2 sp Oil
  • few Curry Leaves

Instructions

  1. Combine and grind powder ingredients into a coarse powder and keep aside.
  2. Wash and pressure cook chopped broad beans with enough salt, tamarind flake and turmeric powder, once done strain them & keep aside. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, then add curry leaves, cooked broad beans and stir-fry for a min with low-medium flame.
  3. Now add in ground powder and mix well, cook for a couple of mins on low flame, when done turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl, now broad beans dalia powder curry is ready to serve, serve hot with rice or roti.
