Brown Rice Milk Pudding/Brown Rice Sweet Pongal-How to prepare brown rice sweet pongal

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Brown Rice
  • 11/2 cup Jaggery
  • 3 cups Milk
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 pinch Elaichi Powder
  • few Dry Fruits
  • 2 sp Ghee

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak brown rice for 30 mins and keep aside.
  2. Drain water completely, add milk and pressure cook for 4 whistles.
  3. Let it cool for some time, remove the lid & mash it well.
  4. Now boil a cup of water & add grated jaggery into it & allow it to boil.
  5. Boil till the jaggery completely dissolved in water & then strain the jaggery water.
  6. Again boil the jaggery water and make a thick syrup.
  7. Now add cooked rice, elaichi powder to jaggery syrup and mix well.
  8. Add ghee and stir well, continue to cook for a couple of mins.
  9. Then turn off the flame & transfer into a serving bowl & add garnish with chopped dry fruits.
  10. Yummy yummy brown rice milk pudding is ready for naivedyam.
