Cabbage Dal / Cabbage Pappu / Patta Gobi Pappu - Dal Recipes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped Cabbage
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 Tomato chopped
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 1 sp Tamarind pulp
  • 1 pinch Turmeric powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry leaves
  • 2 sp oil

Instructions

  1. Combine and pressure cook dal, chopped cabbage, onion, green chillies and tomato till done, let the cooker cool, remove the lid and mash it well.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, when they splutter add curry leaves and fry for a while, then add cooked dal mixture, tamarind pulp and mix well.
  3. Then add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and mix, let it cook for a couple of mins on medium flame.
  4. After that transfer into a serving bowl, now cabbage dal is ready to serve, serve with rice or rotis.
