Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1 cup grated Jaggery
  • Fistful Coconut Pieces
  • 1/4 sp Elaichi Powder
  • 4 sp Ghee

Instructions

  1. Soak rice for one over night, the next day wash and drain water completely.
  2. Grind it well and sieve to get very fine powder and keep aside.
  3. Fry the coconut pieces in little ghee until it turns light brown in color and keep aside.
  4. Add the grated jaggery in a pan with 1/2 cup of water and boil it.
  5. The jaggery dissolves into water then filter the syrup.
  6. Add the syrup to a wide pan and keep the flame.
  7. Once the syrup comes undapakam,then remove from the flame.
  8. Add rice flour little by little and mix well, then add elaichi powder, coconut pieces, ghee and stir well.
  9. Mixing thoroughly without lumps and cover with a lid.
  10. Now tasty tasty chalimidi is ready to serve.
