Dondakaya Ullikaram Kura / Tindora Curry with Onion Masala / Ivy Gourd Fry In Onion Masala

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped lengthwise Ivy Gourd Pieces
  • 1 big Onion roughly chopped
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli
  • Curry Leaves
  • 4 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Cook ivy gourd pieces along with salt and turmeric powder, once done strain them and keep aside. Meantime, combine onion, red chilli powder and grind along with little salt to a coarse paste. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add the ground onion paste to it and stir-fry, keep stirring on low flame.
  2. Then add cooked tindora pieces and mix well with the onion masala and cook for a couple of mins on low flame. When done dondakaya ullikaram kura is ready.
  3. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve with steamed white rice.
