Gongura Pappu / Sorrel Leaves Dal / Red Sorrel Leaves Dal Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Toor Dal
  • 2 cups chopped Gongura
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 11/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 sp Cumin seeds
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash and pressure cook dal and gongura leaves, green chilli, onions in a separate bowls upto 3 whistles.
  2. Let the cooker cool remove the lid and mix and mash sorrel leaves and dal.
  3. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, dal mixture and stir well.
  4. Then add red chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder and mix it well, let it cook for 5 mins on low flame, then turn of the heat.
  5. Transfer into a serving bowl, now gongura pappu is ready to serve, serve with rice or rotis.
