  • 1 cup Urad Dal
  • 3 cups Idli Rava
  • Salt to taste


  1. Wash and soak urad dal, uppudu rava in separately bowls for 4 hours.
  2. Grind Urad dal by adding enough water till it becomes smooth batter.
  3. Add idly rava by squeezing all the water to the batter and leave the batter overnight.
  4. Add salt to the batter and mix well, then fill it in the idly plates.
  5. Cook them for 10 minutes in pressure / idly cooker.
  6. Now hot hot idlis are ready to serve, serve with chutney.
