Ingredients
- 1 cup Toor Dal
- 1 no small Snake Gourd / Potlakaya
- 2 Green Chillies chopped
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- 2 sp Lemon Juice
- Salt to taste
For Popu :
- 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 sp Urad Dal
- 1 Red Chilli crocked
- 1 pinch Hing
- Curry Leaves
- 2 sp Oil
Instructions
Wash snake gourd/potlakaya well and chop into small pieces and keep aside.
Wash toor dal and pressure cook along with chopped green chillies and snake gourd pieces. Once done turn off the flame and allow it cool down completely. After that remove the lid and mash the dal mixture.
Heat oil in a pan and popu ingredients and fry. Once done add curry leaves, cooked dal mixture and stir well.
Then add salt, turmeric powder and cook for a couple of mins on medium flame. If needed add 1/4 cup of water and cook. When done turn off the flame and add lemon juice and mix well.
Now potlakaya pappu/snake gourd dal is ready to serve, serve with rice or roti.
