Potlakaya Kandipappu Podi Kura / Snake Gourd Toor Dal Fry

Ingredients

  • 1 no Potlakaya/Snake Gourd
  • 1/4 cup Toor Dal/Kandi Pappu
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • For Popu :
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak toor dal for about 10 mins and 3/4 cook on stove top and keep it aside, wash and cut snake gourd into small pieces.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add curry leaves, potlakaya pieces and stir, add salt, turmeric powder and mix well.
  3. Sprinkle little water and mix, cover and cook on low flame, when the pieces are completely cook add cooked toor dal, red chilli powder and mix well.
  4. Let it simmer on low heat for another couple of minutes without lid and then turn off the flame.
  5. Potlakaya kandi pappu podi kura is ready to serve, serve hot with plain white rice.
