Spicy Rice Rava Undrallu / Upma Kozhukattai – How to prepare Kara Undrallu
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rice Rava
- 2 cups Water
- 1 Green Chilli chopped
- 1 sp chopped Ginger
- Salt to taste
- 1 sp Ghee for greasing
- 1/4 sp Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 sp Chana Dal
- 1/2 sp Urad Dal
- 1 Red Chilli crocked
- few Curry Leaves
- 2 sp Oil

Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry, once done add chopped ginger, green chillies, curry leaves and fry for 30 ses. Then add water, salt and bring it to a boil, when it starts boiling add rice rava, mix well and cook completely, turn off the flame and allow it to cool.
- Once the mixture cools, mix well and make small lemon sized balls, in the meantime grease little ghee to a wide bowl and place the prepared upma balls.
- In a kadai invert a plate and then pour 1 cup of water and bring it to a boil, then place the undralla vessel on it and cover with a lid and steam cook for 10 mins.
- When done turn off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl, now spicy Rava Undrallu/Upma Kozhukattai are ready as naivedyam to Lord Ganesha. It's a healthy breakfast and serve with chutney or powder.
