Gutti Kakarakaya Kura / Stuffed Bitter Gourd / Stuffed Karela
Ingredients
- 8 nos Bitter Gourd/Kakarakayalu
- 4 sp Gram Flour/Besan
- 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
- 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds/Jeera
- 1/4 sp Ajwain Seeds/Vamu
- 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
- Salt to taste
- 4 tbsp Oil
Instructions
- Take small type of karela/kakarakayalu and wash well. Then make vertical slits and cook the karela with enough salt and drain them and allow it to cool.
- Take a bowl add besan, salt, ajwain seeds, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, 1 sp oil and mix well, now the stuffing is ready.
- Once cooled stuff each bitter gourd with the besan stuffing, heat oil in a wide pan place the kakarakayalu and shallow fry in medium heat.
- Changing the sides carefully and cook them till brown in color.
- When done remove from flame and transfer into a serving bowl, now gutti kakarakayalu/stuffed karelas are ready to serve.
