Urad Dal Onion Vada / Ulli Garelu Recipe / Onion Vada
Ingredients
- 1 cup Urad Dal/Black Gram Dal
- 1 big Onion
- 4 Green Chillies
- enough Salt
- Curry Leaves chopped
- Oil for deep fry
Instructions
- Wash and soak urad dal for 2 hours and grind into a coarse paste with out water.
- Grind green chillies, onion pieces into coarse paste ( kacha pacha ).
- In a mixing bowl combine urad dal batter, salt and mix well.
- Add chopped curry leaves, onion mixture and mix thoroughly.
- Heat oil in a frying pan, shape the batter into small vadas and fry until brown in color.
- Remove from oil and drain them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Now ulli garelu/onion vadalu are ready to serve, serve hot with chutney.
